Luxury Lives in the Details: Meet Saffron Honey and Shishi Gold Dust

León Y Sol goes beyond the bottle with Saffron Honey and Shishi Gold Dust: a saffron sweetness for cocktails, tea and the table, and a gold finish for any glass.

You look at the glass before you drink from it. Gold on the rim. Saffron in the honey. One small decision by whoever made the drink, and the whole thing feels like an occasion.

That's the idea León Y Sol has been built on since the first bottle. Luxury isn't saved for big nights. It lives in the details, and the details are what people remember.

Today we're putting two of our favorite details in your hands: Saffron Honey and Shishi Gold Dust.

Where this came from

León Y Sol started as a tequila. Highlands of Jalisco, made by the third generation of the Aceves family. That part hasn't changed.

What grew around it is Sol Hour. Music, cocktails, and a room full of people who actually showed up. Not a happy hour. A ritual. And the drink that anchors it is the Sol y Soda: tequila, soda, a little saffron honey, and a rim that catches the light.

Guests kept asking for the recipe. Then they kept asking for the honey, and where to get the rim. So we stopped keeping them behind the bar.

Saffron Honey

Saffron Honey is the warm, golden sweetness in the Sol y Soda, and it does not need a cocktail to earn its spot. Stir it into a drink. Drizzle it into tea when the night winds down. Leave it on the table at dinner and watch it become the thing everyone reaches for.

It's sweetness that was built with intention. Saffron does the work. Nothing else gets in the way. The jar is 5.5 oz, which is enough to get through a few gatherings and one quiet week of tea.

Shishi Gold Dust

You've seen it on the rim. Shishi Gold Dust is the finishing touch that turns a drink into an occasion. Rim a glass. Dust a cocktail. Let the glass do the talking so you don't have to.

How you serve something is part of how people remember it. This is the part they remember. The tin is 2 oz, and a little goes a long way.

Five ways to use them tonight

  • Make the Sol y Soda. The signature pour, the way we serve it at Sol Hour. The recipe lives at leonysol.com, right next to both products.
  • Fix your house cocktail. Swap the simple syrup in your margarita or Paloma for Saffron Honey, then rim the glass with Gold Dust. Same drink, better evening.
  • Make a nightcap that isn't a drink. Saffron Honey in hot tea. That's the whole recipe.
  • Put the honey on the table. Friends over for dinner, honey out next to the bread and the salt. Small details are what people talk about on the ride home.
  • Keep it zero proof. Saffron Honey and a Gold Dust rim with NeQuila™, our 0.0% agave spirit. Full ritual, no buzz.

Beyond the bottle

A tequila brand that only sells tequila is leaving most of the evening on the table. The glass, the rim, the honey next to the bread, the music in the room. We'd rather be in all of it.

Saffron Honey and Shishi Gold Dust aren't a new direction for us. They're the next chapter of the same one. Sol Hour, ROAR, NeQuila™, our work with EMPIRE. León Y Sol has always been about more than what's inside the bottle. Now a piece of it lives in your kitchen.
